This week, I will be attending the IRS Tax Forum at the Gaylord Hotel in National Harbor, Maryland. The forum is a special opportunity for Tax Practitioners to attend presentations where the internal processes of the IRS are discussed. This offers insight in to resolving complex issues with a minimum of delay and confusion. Special workshops that deal with the unique issues relating to non-profit organizations and computer security are also presented.
At each annual forum, a practitioner may bring one case for a meeting with an IRS Problem Resolution Officer. I have personally had four difficult cases resolved over the years, at the conclusion of these meetings, all in my clients favor!
The hotel ballroom usually has over sixty exhibitors from tax software companies to firms selling all forms of technical devices. It is a great opportunity to see the latest in tax related products and technology being demonstrated. I always look forward to this annual event. I hope to return with many cutting edge ideas to write about. Stay tuned……
