PRIVACY POLICY

In order to meet the requirements of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999, I am writing this letter to ensure that you are aware of the privacy policy of this firm.

We understand that confidentiality is key in any financial relationship.  We have always taken very seriously our responsibility to protect your privacy by keeping information secure and confidential.  This letter will describe our process for collecting, using, disclosing, and protecting your nonpublic personal information.

We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:

  • Information we receive from you via telephone, applications, tax preparation organizers, work sheets, and other documents we use in tax preparation or providing financial services;
  • Information we receive in response to requests w make to third parties about you or to confirm information that you have provided to us, particularly in the process of completing tax returns, or performing accounting services, not limited to, but including contacting the IRS or other Tax Authorities to resolve issues.

    • We may disclose nonpublic personal information about our clients or former clients to nonaffiliated third parties as permitted by law.  most often, this is in the form of a reference with regard to our services.  Occasionaally we will inform a client about an opportunity being offered by another client, as in the case where one of our business clients has a job opening of is selling a parcel of property.

    If you prefer that we not disclose nonpublic personal information to nonaffiliated third parties, you may opt out of those disclosures.  that is, you may direct us not to make those disclosures (other than disclosures permitted by law).  If you wish to opt out of disclosures to nonaffiliated third parties, you may call 301-473-4445.

    We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to members of our firm who need to know that information to provide services to you.  We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.  Finally, the firm does not sell any information about your clients to anyone.
